Thriving after Hodgkin lymphoma& Bone Marrow Transplant: Mohamed ‘s story

Mohamed is a smiling and cheerful kid, who has been through a tough treatment journey that started at the Children’s Cancer Hospital 57357 and ended with his victory against cancer thanks to the efforts and dedication of the hospital’s medical team. In 2017, Mohamed was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma.

In the day care treatment department, Mohamed immediately started following the prescribed intense chemotherapy protocol. Then, the doctors decided to perform an autologous bone marrow transplant to eliminate all cancer cells immediately after the tests showed that the little angel had relapsed.

“The hospital spared no efforts to give Mohamed the best quality care”, said the boy’s mother , expressing her gratitude for the medical team’s close follow up and care of her son.”  The reliable nursing team, the well experienced doctors and the friendly atmosphere of the hospital have contributed to our victory against cancer “, she added. It is noteworthy that the CCHE57357 has performed 65 bone marrow transplantations in 2020 which nearly costs 155,000 EGP (9000$)  per case.  “we never thought that our son could have a normal life after cancer treatment’, said the mom.  Today after 5 years of treatment, Mohamed is growing with no trace of Hodgkin lymphoma.
